An indentured servant was a person who sold themselves into slavery for a certain period of time to satisfy a debt, and indeed thousands of people in the 17th and 18th centuries sold themselves into indentured servitude to escape the oppression of England and pay for the crossing of the Atlantic to get to America.

Body of Christ
If you take an honest look at the larger Body of Christ, which is to say at groups you don’t worship with, you will see manifestations of the Spirit in the Methodist church, and in the Southern Baptist church, and in the Pentecostal church and in the Church of Christ and in the Missionary Baptist church and in the Lutheran church and in the Catholic church… We may not always agree on teaching or customs or traditions, but where the Spirit is present, so are our brothers and sisters in Christ, for we all have the same indwelling Holy Spirit.

America - A horse with no name (clip HQ)
Originally, the band thought "A Horse With No Name" was too corny and it actually took some convincing to get them to play it. The song had its public debut at the Harrogate Music Festival to a great audience response. After several performances and a TV show, "Desert Song" was officially retitled "A Horse With No Name." It was released in March of 1972, became a #1 hit, and stayed at the top of the charts for three weeks. The debut album America was re-released to include the song and quickly went platinum.
The song was actually banned on some U.S. radio stations because of its title and lyrics. "Horse" is a common street term for heroin. Dewey Bunnell and the other members of America completely denied any drug reference connected with the lyrics.

Racism in the Philippines
Actually, this is not racism in its purest form. Filipinos are not so much discriminating on the basis of race as much as mere skin tone. Philippine society is very much segregated by skin color. The paler your skin the greater the level of success is available to you. Likewise, dark skin is a fast ticket to the bottom. Most of the dominant families in politics are pale skinned.
Historically, this traces back to the Spanish occupation. The wealthiest, most powerful Spaniards who came to the islands were pale skinned. During their time in control of the archipelago, they vigorously spread their genes among the brown skinned natives. The lighter offspring of these pairings received higher social status and even became eligible. Soon, an even paler generation of native Filipinos emerged. These were born to privilege and lived in the big hacienda bearing the name of legitimacy, their father’s name.
The brief decades of American governance did little to change these patterns as America was equally segregated by skin color. Filipinos adjusted to some degree as the Civil Rights Movement eventually lead to a degree of equality for Blacks in America. The Viet Nam War brought large independent, strong Black men to the islands.
This brings us to modern Filipino society. It remains very conscious of color, promoting the lighter skin above all. Virtually every product in the country contains skin-whitening ingredients. Women walk around on sunny days huddled under an umbrella afraid to tan. They go to the beach in long pants and shirts for the same reason. This also explains the fact that natives of tropical islands do not usually know how to swim.
Yes, the Philippines has racism. However, they will never solve the problem until they first acknowledge the problem. Unfortunately, one of the traits of Spanish Catholic cultures is to deny any faults and to become angry and defensive if somebody points them out. That is the biggest difference between American and Filipino cultures. We face our faults and act to eliminate them.

10. When shaking hands, grip firmly and look them in the eye.
11. Don’t let a wishbone grow where a backbone should be.
12. If you need music on the beach, you’re missing the point.
13. Carry two handkerchiefs. The one in your back pocket is for you. The one in your breast pocket is for her.
14. You marry the girl, you marry her family.
15. Be like a duck. Remain calm on the surface and paddle like crazy underneath.
16. Experience the serenity of traveling alone.
