Anger

Ephesians 4:26 tells us ” Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.”

Anger that is selfish, undisciplined, and vindictive is sinful. This kind of anger has no place in the life of a Christian. On the other hand, anger that is unselfish and based on a love for God and concern for others is commanded. This is righteous anger. Genuine love cannot help being angered at that which injures the object of that love.

I have watched many movies in my lifetime. Several movies have portrayed women as having anger problems. For example how many movies have you seen where the woman gets mad at her husband or boyfriend and throws something against the wall, rips up pictures of them, or chases him with a broom? There is a recent commercial showing a woman throwing things out the window and her boyfriend is on the sidewalk trying not to get hit. She even throws his guitar out the window. Have you ever seen the husband or boyfriend throw things? Do women really do things like that? Why are women portrayed this way? I can say that my wife has never got mad and threw anything. However, she has given me a few warnings such as if I know what's good for me I wouldn't do that again. Anger can be a normal mood, a hurtful mood, or both. The Bible says, "Be ye angry, and sin not; let not the sun go down upon your wrath:". We will get angry at times, but we should try to control our anger so that we do not sin or do something that we would later regret. Well, I have a confession. A long time ago I got angry and hit a door. That didn't solve anything. I know a young guy who was chatting on Facebook and got mad and hit a block wall. No one was even around him. He broke his hand. I guess that us guys are sometimes guilty of hitting things. That doesn't solve anything either. However, we do think it fixes things that aren't working for some reason.
