Child Prisoners - Philippines
he was saying how hard it was living in the cell - very cramped, the cells at night become so full. its a bitter life, the food portions are so small. the other prisoners steal their clothes; the mom said that she couldnt take care of him, because she has too many mouths too feed and father doesnt have work and that they dont agree blah blah just being an neglectful drunk- so sad. last part: taking about his future vetures and hopeful of his future not to steal again. so sad.

Word
Yes, the world is a mess due to sin. It's in an unrecoverable death spiral. The good news is that God has provided a way for us to be rescued from our sin! We all have faith in someone or something. When we realize we are sinners, and place our faith in Jesus who gave His life on the cross as payment for our sins, we receive God's gift of eternal life.
(Romans 10:8-13)
But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

In a conversation that took place shortly after 9/11. There was much talk about going to war against terrorists at that time, and a leading U.S. Senator had been on the news saying that we can’t declare war against anybody unless it is a country. I pointed out that the very first time that the U.S. had declared war under the Constitution in 1803; we declared war on the Barbary pirates. A modern day terrorist who hijacks an aircraft is called an “air pirate” by the law, thus “terrorist” is the modern term and “pirate” is the old term. The Barbary pirates of 1803 were sea terrorists operating off the coast of North Africa who were Islamic, therefore the very first time that the United States declared war was against Islamic terrorists.
